Video Review of Slighter “Complicit”

Hot new video release from Portland’s electronic dance rage band Slighter. This song has such a creeping sludgy sex appeal. Colin Cameron has a filthy vocal delivery which stalks you like a hunter beyond your vision. I love the contrast of the glitchy sound and booming bass with those whispered promise melodies. The video is an amazing ghost in the machine view. Innocence is dangerous, inside of us”. I love the hard build in this short banger. A hungry snarling club growl for your next playlist

Exclusive Video Premier of Black Angel “Animal”

When I ranked Black Angel “Kiss of Death” in the top 5 goth albums of 2020 it was largely due to their ability to bring back something to gothic music I feared lost forever. Adrenalin fueled hard rock. These are deep rich tones and sexy shadowy gothic concepts. With early Mission semi truck baselines and buzz saw guitar work cutting through your conciseness. The video is a beautiful high production old school MTV cinematic affair. True LA glamor style done with a London posh darkness.

Currently the album is available here for digital release, CD, or in a slick gloss black vinyl.

Video Premier Batavia “Fields of Grey”

Another exciting Sounds and Shadows Video premier. This from Teri and Ed Cripps of Jacksonville Florida. This is a slow rolling tension builder track full of politically charged imagery. Teri’s vocals have a warm velvety hum. The synths are the primary scenery build but have a large expansive burst that add an arena sized power. The song comes off their July 4th 2020 release Graveyard. I think what struck me most about video and song was the scope. It kept falling back and forward from intimate to eternity. Gorgeous and dangerous fall into this imagery.

Video Premier of Vaselyne

We are extremely excited to be premiering the release of a brand new video from our friend Yvette Winkler and the band Vaselyne from their album. It goes live at midnight tonight. I love the flowing darkwave vibes with tension building strings. A sullen and introspective walk through an enchanted forest. I love these soulful resonant vocals and how they intersect with this gorgeous piano melody. Wonderful vibes of Dead Can Dance/Miranda Sex Garden coldwave shrouded in mystery. Hailing from the Netherlands I have high hopes for the future of this delicate and passionate sound.
